It was undertaken to better understand the complex, persistent challenges surrounding housing, land and property rights in Somalia including land ownership, tenure security and property rights issues that historical conflicts, socio-political instability and the lack of a cohesive legal framework have exacerbated.
The findings from the study are intended to inform housing, land and property rights programming, inspire practical policy solutions and support advocacy to enhance the protection and promotion of housing, land and property rights. Ultimately, addressing these issues is critical to achieve durable solutions for internally displaced people and other vulnerable groups and to foster stability in the region.
