Why is NRC collecting my personal data?
When enrolling in the BLP App, NRC processes your personal data for one or more of the following purposes:
- To give you access to the BLP App
- To communicate with you regarding your progress in the courses that you are enrolled in
- To follow up with you directly if needed/ requested
- To provide additional support as needed
- To improve and adjust the App to the needs of the various user groups
What personal data is being collected by NRC?
NRC is collecting the name (nickname), mobile number, gender and role shared by each user during the sign-up process in the BLP App.
Why is NRC processing my personal data?
Processing is necessary to provide a unique login to the BLP App and to track and support your learning. In some instances, NRC may want to get in touch with you for follow up and/or to provide additional help related your psychosocial support needs and/or the needs of your children/students.
NRC creates a user account for you on the BLP App using your name (nickname), and the mobile number you provided when creating your profile during sign-up.
On what legal basis is NRC processing my personal data?
By accepting the terms and conditions shared with you during the sign-up process, you have provided NRC with consent to use your personal information including your name (nickname), mobile number, gender and role for the reasons stated above.
You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time by contacting your NRC BLP Instructor to 'opt-out'.
Who will NRC share my personal data with?
NRC may share generic information from the BLP App with the University of Tromsø (UiT) in Norway, which is NRC’s research partner.This data processing is regulated by a data processing agreement between NRC and UiT. Personally identifiable information (PII) such as name and phone number will not be shared with third parties without your prior consent.
How long will NRC store my personal data?
Data collected by NRC will be stored for as long as you wish to use the BLP App. When you no longer want to keep your profile, please inform your NRC BLP Trainer. Your data will be automatically removed from the server within 7 days after your profile is removed from the BLP App.
What are my rights in relation to my personal data?
You have the right at any time to request access to and a copy of the personal data that NRC holds in relation to you. You can require correction/rectification of your personal data if these are inaccurate or incomplete and you also have the right to object to theprocessing of this data.
