The Cash Consortium Sudan (CCS) provides a progressive vision of the potential of cash and markets assistance to transform humanitarian response and recovery in partnership with vulnerable conflict-affected populations in Sudan.

In 2023, Sudan collapsed into a historical humanitarian crisis as the war broke out and spread across the country, forcing millions to flee, plunging millions into deadly hunger and shattering the economy.

To respond to the crisis, NRC and other INGOs and local NGO partners created the Cash Consortium Sudan (CCS), a progressive vision of the potential of cash and markets assistance to transform humanitarian response and recovery in partnership with vulnerable conflict-affected populations in Sudan.

CCS is a partnership of 7 INGOs and 10 Sudanese NGOs delivering a harmonized cash plus approach to drive impact, efficiency and cost effectiveness, with initial focus on lifesaving assistance and safeguarding livelihoods through improved coordination, basic needs assistance, market recovery, supporting response through local actors, and evidence generation

The below briefing papers offer an innovative and field ground analysis and solutions to improve the humanitarian response in Sudan.
